Salem Academy was established in 1772 and offers college preparatory education for girls in grades 9-12. With twenty AP and honors courses offered, academic achievement is at the center of the school. Sports, theatre, music, the arts and community work – all of these are important because they bring fullness and happiness into the lives of the students. The school campus offers college level athletic facility; fine arts center with two performance auditoriums and a black box theater. Salem's AP English Literature teacher and Director of Studies is one of 8 people across the United States who write the AP exam. In addition, she serves as a question leader, one of the highest levels of AP exam readers. In 2012 the average SAT was 1820 and the graduating class was awarded 1.1 million in university scholarships!
