Calverton School

“To me, the most distinguishable difference between school in Hong Kong and the US is the opportunity to learn outside of the classroom. The move from home to a foreign place was a hard decision, but easily one of the best I have made. I was welcomed into Calverton with opened arms and greeted with many opportunities for me to learn who I am and can be. I was involved in multiple varsity sports teams and clubs; I had an amazing experience playing volleyball with my schoolmates and created memories and lasting friendships. The school ensures that every student achieves a balance between education and involvement in the community. That allowed me to grow not only in academics but also socially. In my junior year, I traveled to the city of Prague with the school for a volunteering trip. On that trip, I realized that my passion lies in helping people in need all around the world. I was continuously encouraged and pushed to reach my potential and pursue my goals. I am excited to begin my journey at the University of Washington – Seattle and explore the field of bioengineering.”
